WHY IT WORKS.
Creative Programs including photography have been shown to provide benefits that provide young people:
OPPORTUNITIES FOR EXPRESSION
Research shows that youth can channel maladaptive or dangerous instincts, risky behaviors, difficult thoughts and complex emotions into creative products.
COPING MECHANISMS
Creative projects and activities are clinically cited as an effective alternative treatment to cope with trauma.
LOWER STRESS & ANXIETY
Studies conducted at Drexel University detail how study participants engaged in creative activities recorded lower levels of cortisol stress hormone and improved mood and self efficacy.
CRITICAL THINKING DEVELOPMENT
Research shows that creativity is a critical part of developing critical thinking skills, problem solving, motivation, and resilience.
PHOTOGRAPHY PROGRAM
The Youth Photography Class is a class designed for youth aged 10-17. The hands-on program exposes youth at-risk to gun violence to photography basics.
Students gain the opportunity to work with professional cameras, lighting, and photography equipment at Immortal Vision Studio.
CJ WOLFE FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP FUND
This scholarship aims to ease the financial burden on aspiring creatives and students, enabling them to invest in essential school materials or creative equipment.
Inspired by CJ Wolfe’s own journey, this award acknowledges the importance of having access to resources that can further one's education and creative passions.
PULL UP & PITCH INITIATIVE FOR ENTREPRENEURS
We aim to back to the entrepreneurial community by providing financial support and recognition to emerging businesses from communities most impacted by gun violence.
This initiative celebrates founders’ hard work and ingenuity, inspired by CJ Wolfe’s journey from a 9-5 job to successful entrepreneurship.
